Project Description

Finneran Pavilion at Villanova University is home to the men’s and woman’s NCAA basketball teams and has been the site of concerts by Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Wiz Khalifa. Finneran Pavilion underwent a $65 million renovation that would create a best in class atmosphere and an even stronger home-court advantage for their basketball programs.

Why Villanova Chose Metinteractive

Not only did Metinteractive provide the production systems for the Finneran Pavilion,  Mi also provided onsite training as well as assistance with the system during the first three games of the season, to ensure fans a positive experience at the revamped Finneran Pavilion.

Equipment:

  • Harman-powered, EAW distributed speaker system with a Dante communication layer directly integrated into the video production workflow
  • The video production system was modified to utilize Ross Video’s Ultrix core routing to eliminate the typical analog audio layer
  • Video production highlights include a Ross Carbonite 3 ME switcher, Hitachi cameras, Abekas replay, and Yamaha consoles

Conclusion:

As part of a complete renovation and expansion of this historic cathedral-style arena, Mi worked closely with Wrightson|Johnson|Haddon|Williams (WJHW) and architect EwingCole to coordinate the best possible presentation quality and workflow in such a non-conventional space.
